Colchester Zoo 2020
Aspen (Year 1) visited Colchester Zoo on the 12th February 2020 in connection with their science learning about different animal groups. Pupils were lucky enough to see lots of different animals, ride on the train and walk through the bird enclosure where Mrs Crooks and Mrs Young had a selection of birds land on them. They had an informative session in the afternoon where pupils were able to touch a range of animal skins, skeletons and artefacts. They then sorted them into the different animal groups: birds, fish, mammals, reptiles and amphibians. The staff were very proud of the childrenâs behaviour especially when a member of the zoo's staff congratulated the children before leaving stating they were âa very well behaved, sensible class.
