Truthfulness, Fairness and Respect
The lessons of fairness and respect must start early if we are to have a truly fair and civilised society, free from discrimination where we all play our part as active citizens. It is my belief that these values are strongest when anchored and embedded into a school's culture and explicitly taught through the curriculum. Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon OBE (Stephen Lawrence's mum)
We have to remain positive; the world is filled with wonderful, kind, caring people. There is far more good in this world than bad. It is our duty as educators to ensure that our curriculum explicitly teaches pupils about peacefully fighting against hatred.
Each year we mark anti-bullying week by having special assemblies, lessons and making a renewed pledge to eradicate bullying in our community and school. We also celebrate Odd Socks Day in school. Magna Carta Primary Academy is part of the Anti-Bullying Alliance. Our school Prefects and 1215 Committee members help to spread the anti-bullying message across the school.
