Extracurricular Activities

A ship in port is safe, but that is not what ships are for. Sail out to sea and do new things - Grace Hopper

At Magna Carta we offer a range of free extracurricular clubs and activities. The majority of our clubs are free to parents because we use the PE and Sport Premium funding we receive from the Department for Education to run these clubs. Other clubs are free to parents because they are run by volunteers from the local community. We do have some fee paying clubs which are run by outside providers for example music sessions and languages lessons. Some of our most popular clubs include: dodgeball, football, yoga, Change For Life, athletics, cricket, hockey, tennis, tag rugby, karate, dance and art and craft. We rotate clubs regularly and offer clubs from EYFS to KS2. Clubs are booked using ParentPay. This works on a first-come-first-served basis. Demand is high so please book on straight away! We are always looking to improve our club offering by increasing the number of places as well as offering more clubs where possible.

Extracurricular Music

We currently offer keyboard tuition to small groups. Sessions are paid for by parents, directly to the tutors. If you would like your child to join these groups, please contact reception@magnacartacademy.org for the tutors' contact details.

Keyboard lessons develop piano-playing skills, keyboard techniques, music reading and improvisation skills, all taught through a variety of fun activities and tunes that the children really enjoy playing.

We also offer guitar and drumming lessons each Monday. Prices are available on request. See www.virtuosomusicacademy.co.uk for more details or contact the school office.
