End of Reception

In order to reach a good level of development, pupils at the end of Reception need to meet or exceed the expected standard in the first 12 areas of learning. These are:

Phonics Screening Check

Pupils in Year 1 take a phonics screening check in June. Since the assessment began, the threshold for meeting the expected standard, has been 32/40. Pupils are asked to decode and blend 40 words including pseudo-words. Any pupils who do not meet the threshold in Year 1, are assessed again in the June of Year 2. Data since opening is in the table below. National data is shown in brackets.

End of Key Stage One

Pupils in Year 2 are assessed in Reading, Writing, Maths and Science in June. In May, pupils take SATs in Reading and Maths. Data for our end of Key Stage 1 results since opening is in the table below. National data is shown in brackets where applicable.
